Eating my words

You write a story, think it’s the most wonderful piece you have ever written and then a competition comes along. You have written 3,100 words of sheer magic, but the rules require 2,500. Shock, horror, a masterpiece ruined, the Mona Lisa without the Smile, the statue of David without…I won’t go there.

The editing begins, hard labour, words drop of the screen like rain, then…umm not bad, why did I use all those words after all. Stand by readers very soon my two sentence ‘masterpieces’, all 52 of them will be let loose on your unsuspecting world.
