It’s been a roller coaster of a week, so much so there were times I forgot what I actually did.
Friday was a visit to an antiques fair in the countryside with my wife and Dad. I returned with a hand cultivator shaped like a boney hand. The seller said it was like the one that was used to mutilate one and all in ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ The more I looked at it the more I thought it should be kept in a drawer out of sight. It has five prongs and is coloured a kind of scaley lizard green. Mysterious.
On then to the Book Barn in the afternoon. Yes readers, a definite must – 2 million books on 36 miles of shelving. We came away with nine books for the grand total of £6.50.
Saturday morning we returned to school to help Maths and English classes revise before their exams which are just about to start. We returned home after being treated to a meal and fell asleep.
Sunday we were too tired to cook so off to a garden centre for a roast Sunday lunch.
Monday haircut day, so I have even less than the little I had already. Still the hairdresser is a fun person. She is lively and tells wonderful tales between coffee and biscuits.
Who says retirement is boring?
